Reward offered after Golf Links damage

by isleofman.com 26th August 2006
The owner of the Castletown Golf Links has offered a ?1,000 reward to find the culprits who tried to sabotage the club’s Captain's Day.

Vandals dug holes on the fifth green and 11th tee overnight on Friday – the damage was discovered at six o’clock yesterday (Saturday) morning by the head greenkeeper.

Although the event was able to go ahead as a new hole was provided on the fairway and a spare tee used on the 11th, the damage was extensive.

Castletown police are appealing for information.
