The defendant was arrested following a complaint as he stopped the bus he was driving early on July 22nd in Lord Street.
The court was told Faragher had been drinking heavily the previous evening and had not realised he would be over the limit the following morning when he drove the 7.15am bus first to Anagh Coar and then to Lord Street.
He provided samples which gave an alcohol reading of 128 milligrammes in a blood sample. The legal limit is 80 mg.
Mr Moyle said it was a serious matter as a bus driver had the trust of passengers.
The court was told Faragher had been dismissed from his job of fifteen years with the Department of Transport
He was banned from driving for two years.
