by isleofman.com 30th August 2006
Police will continue their investigations this morning following the discovery of the lower half of a human body in the sea off the south of the Island yesterday.

The discovery was made by a police officer at around 2.35 yesterday afternoon (Tues) at the breakwater by the Marine biological station.

The lifeboat and Coastguard carried out searches of the area until darkness fell last night but so far there have been no reports of any further finds.

It's not known if the body was that of a man or a woman.

The Coroner of Inquests has been informed.
