FA threatens legal action over Arab TV

Pubs which switch from Sky to Al Jazeera could soon find themselves on the end of legal action from the FA Premiership.

In the wake of Heron and Brearley’s announcement that it would be withdrawing Sky TV’s live football coverage from the vast majority of its pubs, the FA Premier League says it will prosecute any landlords switching to Arab satellite channels.

Already, some pubs along Douglas’ North Quay (pictured) have had systems fitted to pick up Arab feeds.

Tim Vine, head of public relations for the FA Premier League, says Sky holds the exclusive rights to show live games in Britain.

He says breaching those rights is not something the Premiership is willing to overlook:
