Red Dub Weir work

by isleofman.com 30th August 2006
The Department of Transport says it will shortly begin work rebuilding a weir in the River Neb.

The Red Dub Weir in Patrick has almost washed away, and the DoT’s drainage division plans to rebuild it using locally-sourced granite.

This stone will fit in with the local landscape and will ease the passage for fish migration.

The work will take around six weeks to finish, starting on September 4 when the site is cleared.

A public footpath nearby is likely to close, and the department says it will advertise the closure as normal.
