Cornell doing well

by isleofman.com 31st August 2006
American T.T. sidecar passenger James Cornell is reported to "be doing well" in San Francisco Hospital.

He was injured in a crash at May Hill, Ramsey during the opening Saturday practice session of this year's T.T..

Cornell suffered serious head injuries and has spent weeks in a coma.

Friends in the United States started a campaign to fly him home. Eventually, the Manx Government intervened and he arrived home at the end of last week.

Dozens of motorcyclists escorted Cornell's ambulance from the airport to San Francisco Hospital.

A spokesperson said "He's kind of woken up now but he's still not speaking. He has a lot of issues."
