Dockerill sentence adjourned

by isleofman.com 31st August 2006
Sentence on a 40 year old man has been adjourned by the High Bailiff for reports.

Steven Arthur Dockerill of Victoria Road in Douglas admitted he obtained ?288 by deception on October 20th 2005.

Sergeant John Manley, prosecuting, said the defendant told the DHSS he had not received his benefit cheque and he was given another.

Inquiries showed that Dockerill had in fact received the cheque and he'd cashed it at Money Express where he had an account.

His advocate said that the defendant had been to the United Kingdom for some months for treatment, which was the reason he had not appeared in court before.

Dockerill was bailed until September 19th.
