TT rider back in the USA

The man who personally escorted injured TT rider, James Cornell, back to his native San Francisco, has spoken of his emotional homecoming.

In-flight co-ordinator at Noble’s Hospital, Mark Payne, escorted Cornell on the 26 hour journey earlier this week – three months after he sustained serious head injuries in a crash during the opening TT practice session.

The American sidecar passenger spent weeks in a coma before friends in the United States, the Manx public and the government teamed up to pay for his return.

Now continuing a recovery once thought doubtful, Mark says Cornell’s return is a tribute to the whole motorcycling community:
