TT absolute lap record holder John McGuinness has spoken of his surprise after a campaign by his local newspaper calling for him to be given the freedom of Lancaster and Morecambe.
Although he can’t walk anywhere in he Isle of Man without being mobbed by adoring fans, McGuinness is virtually unknown where he lives.
