Forensic tests are to be carried out this evening on the stretch of road on which a local man lost his life.
The man, who has not yet been named, was killed after a collision involving two motorcycles at Gorse Lea on the TT course, at the junction with Kerrowgarrow Road.
It happened at 9.20 on Friday morning and led to racing on the final day of the Manx Grand Prix being delayed by three hours.
The rider and pillion passenger on the other bike were airlifted to Noble's Hospital, although their condition is not thought to be serious.
Inspector Derek Flint says the stretch of road between Crosby Crossroads to Ballacraine will be closed from six o’clock to nine pm this evening.
