The Department of Transport has signed an agreement with the UK Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA for short) to supply digital tachograph cards to Manx drivers heading for Europe.
Its not going to apply to driving over here on the Island. In the next fortnight all Manx firms to whom this could apply should be getting a letter from the DOT.
The fees are identical to the UK, ?38 for the first application and that application is forwarded to the DVLA.
Tachographs are designed to make sure professional drivers don't overdo it and drive while exhausted, making them a danger to everyone on the road.
