Pre-season Division Two promotion favourites Corinthians and Old Boys have opened up a four point lead over third placed Michael United after five games.
In Tuesday evening's fixtures, Corinthians won their fifth straight game to go top on goal difference. However, "the whites" were held to one-all at half-time by Douglas and District before running out 7-2 winners. Stephen Glover led the way with a hat-trick with the others coming from Paul Davis, Stuart Christian, Nigel Moody and Steven Ward. Lawrence Looney and Richard Brant scored for D & D.
Old Boys were also locked at one-all at half-time against the Police. Patrick Manning scored for the home side at Blackbery Lane with Jamie Tomlinson netting for the Police. Lee Ford fired home the second half winner.
Elsewhere, relegated Castletown beat southern rivals Colby at The Stadium thanks to efforts from Mark Notman and Ben Qualtrough. Two goals from Jack Charmer helped Malew win at Ronaldsway in the other derby game in the south.
It's been a tough four days for Pulrose. After a humbling 9-1 defeat at home to Old Boys, "Pully" suffered a 4-1 loss away to Michael United. Michael Hammond (2), Michael Shimmin and Jamie Moffitt scored for the "Aces" with Paul Cairney getting the consolation for Pulrose.
In the north, Ramsey Youth Centre beat Jurby 2-1 in a tight battle. John Livesey and Steven Oates were the men on target for "Youthie" while Mark Teare found the back of the net for the away side.
Foxdale have slipped to the bottom of the table after a depressing 3-0 loss at Billygoat Park to Onchan. Mark Walmsley (2) and Nuno Sousa were the scorers.
