St. George’s remain the early leaders of OSA Division One after a battling 3-1 home success over Ramsey on Saturday.
But it was Union Mills who caused the shock of the day – winning a nine-goal thriller at high-flying Ayre United.
Meanwhile, Peel remain the side who could go top, if they win their game in hand, after a 3-1 home win against Braddan.
At Glencrutchery Road, Island international Callum Morrissey was the hero for the Geordies with a first half hat-trick, with John Roberts scoring for Ramsey, also in the opening 45 minutes.
Peel defeated Braddan by the same scoreline but were also pushed all the way.
Chris Cain had opened the scoring for the westerners but Gary Burns equalised for Braddan immediately after the restart.
Rob Cottier and Neil Birchenough then found the net to seal the points for the home side.
St Mary’s continued their fine start with a 4-1 win at Marown to stay third, courtesy of goals from Martin Reilly, Liam Cowin, Tony Cain and an own goal.
Stephen Hinds scored the Marown consolation.
Union Mills’ 5-4 success at Andreas was the story of the day.
The Merry Millers were 3-0 in front at the break and, although Ayre fought back superbly in the second half, they couldn’t repair the damage as the visitors scored twice more after the break.
David Thommenny (two), Kevin McKenna, Sam Cain and Dean France were the Millers’ goal heroes, with Johnny Cowley, Niall Cummins, Stephen Parrish and Jason Craine all on target for Ayre in the second half.
Rushen secured their first victory of the season with goals from Jack Saxon, Paul Jones, Neil Curphey and Andrew Moody sealing a 4-1 home success over Douglas Royal, for whom John Baker was on target again.
And there was also success for Gymns, whose second win of the season came at home to St John's.
The Tromode club’s marksmen were Roger Davies, with two superb long-range efforts, and there was also a double from Ciaran McNulty, one from the penalty spot, in a 4-2 win.
Johnny Holland and Liam Harrison replied for St John’s.
