After much debate, the Manx Harriers organised Millennium Way Relay will take place on Boxing Day.
There had been discussions about moving away from the traditional date as some key officials had expressed a wish not to be involved, due to family commitments over the festive period.
One proposal was to run the event on Saturday 23rd December.
The event for teams of four starts at Sky Hill near Ramsey at 9.30am and finishes in Castletown Square.
