Big wins for Corinthians and Old Boys

It’s as you were at the top of CFS Division Two after the big two both won well on Saturday in potentially difficult matches.

Corinthians stay in front on goal difference after goals from David Bignall (two), Steve Glover (two), Jamie Stoy, Steve Ward and Nigel Moody secured a 7-2 victory over Castletown.

Town battled well – the match level at 1-1 at half-time – with Mark Notman grabbing both their goals.

Old Boys were even more emphatic winners after an 8-2 home thrashing of Colby with Callum Stewart (two), Sean Gavin (two), Gary Quirk and Kenny Magee among the goals.

Sam Renshaw scored both for Colby.

Michael remain third after a 4-0 win over Malew, courtesy of goals from Paul Corlett (two), Mark Hammond and Michael Shimmin.

Pulrose had a scare as Ramsey Youth Centre produced a battling display – Pulrose eventually winning 5-4 up north with Barry English, Jay Wood (two) and Dave Skillen among their scorers.

Matthew Boyd, Steven Oates, Mark Faragher and David Cleator were on target for Youth Centre.

The Police’s miserable season continued as Foxdale secured their first win of the campaign in style – 4-0 winners at Billy Goat Park.

Goals from Steve McIntosh, Mark Walmsley (two), Daniel Pownall (two), and John Cooper fired Onchan to a 6-0 win at Jurby, while James McIlhagga (two) and Cliffy Lewin were the scorers as Douglas and District triumphed 3-0 at Ronaldsway.
