Cav 11th in World Road Champs

by isleofman.com 25th September 2006
Mark Cavendish was 11th in the Under 23 Men's Road Race at the 2006 World Road Championships in Austria.

This is the Manx cyclist's best placing in the Championships so far.

Cav was the best finisher for the Great Britain team. They worked hard to give him the launch pad he needed to win those rainbow stripes, but Geraint Thomas' crash left them lacking in numbers.

Mark's road season will conclude next week with a stage race starting on Thursday, followed by a one day race.
