Callister retains End to End

by isleofman.com 25th September 2006
Sunday's End to End walk was won by veteran race walker Robbie Callister.

He was previously unbeaten on the course, which was first used in 2002, and came home 12 minutes ahead of Robbie Lambie.

However, walkers never made it to The Sound, as organisers took the decision to halt the race at Eary Cushlin due to poor visibility.

Organiser Dave Griffiths says conditions were becoming dangerous:

The top ten were as follows:

Robbie Callister
Rob Lambie
Ray Pitts
Michael George
Tom Melvin
Jane Kennaugh
Sue Biggart
Mike Readshaw
Julian Thomas
Mike Gellion

227 walkers made it to Peel, and 187 finished at Eary Cushlin.
