Three legs for Three Lions

by isleofman.com 27th September 2006
The Isle of Man will represent the English F.A. against a Republic of Ireland Amateur XI in Tipperary on Saturday night.

The Manx side won the FA National League Systems Cup earlier this year, and the game is being used as part of the preparation for the UEFA Regions Cup Group 4 matches to be played in the Czech Republic next April.

The squad for the test is: Mark Blair (Laxey FC), John Myers (St George’s FC), Chris Brown (Laxey FC), Robert Cottier (Peel FC), Liam Cowin (St Mary’s FC), Lee Dixon (St Mary’s FC), Nicky Hurt (Peel FC), Paul Jones (Rushen United FC), Danny Lace (Peel FC), Kevin Megson (Peel FC), Callum Morrisey, Sean Quaye, Julian Ringham (all St George’s FC), Nigel Shimmin (Peel FC), Mark Teare (Douglas Royals FC) and Jim Travers (Laxey FC).

The players will exchange their 'three legs' shirts for the white shirts of England and the famous 'three lions'.
