Industrial climate is worsening, says union chief

Trade union leaders say it’s difficult to say why industrial relations in the Island are suffering at the moment.

After a string of disputes involving the government’s manual workers, nursery nurses and airport firefighters, Transport and General Workers’ Union regional organiser, Bernard Moffatt, says the climate is worsening.

But he says it’s hard to point to a single cause for the 30 disputes the TGWU is currently involved in Island-wide.
