Institute of Sport launched

Some of the Island's top sports people gathered at the Villa Marina yesterday (Wednesday) for the launch of the Manx Institute of Sport.

It's part of the Manx Sports Aid Foundation and although it won't be based in one building, athletes will be given access and funding for a range of services.

It's being funded by the Manx Government along with several other sponsors, including businessman Albert Gubay who made a ?1 million pounds donation earlier this year.

Performance Co-ordinator, Chris Quine, explains how the institute will work:
