Vagabonds break their duck

by isleofman.com 1st October 2006
Vagabonds finally got off the mark this season with a 29-19 home win over Oldershaw, in EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One, despite a poor second half performance.

Vagas led 29-12 at the break with tries from Jay Kruger (two), Fanie Scheurkogel and Rob Pease, plus three penalties from the trusty boot of Jonny Beckley.

They were unable to add to their tally in the second half but managed to hold on to record a long overdue first win of the campaign.

In EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three, Douglas hung on for away win at Holmes Chapel by 35 points to 28.

Douglas led 25-10 at half time but let Holmes Chapel back into the game after the break.

James Bunce led the way for Douglas with two tries and there were also scores from James Stamp, Rob Todd and one for debutant Christian Brew.

The remainder of Douglas’ points came from the increasingly reliable boot of Bryn Snellgrove.
