Manx side beaten in Ireland

There was disappointment for the Isle of Man national side after they were beaten 1-0 in a friendly against an Ireland select eleven last night (Saturday).

The match was preparation for the UEFA Regions Cup next April.

The goal was conceded in the 85th minute when the Manx side was down to 10 men, Lee Dixon having been sent off 25 minutes from time.

The next pre-tournament fixture is against Lichtenstein, in February.

Manager Kevin Manning says it was a close game and they've learned a lot (audio file attached):
