Good news for e-gaming

by isleofman.com 2nd October 2006
There may be worrying times for online gaming with the arrest of several key company figures in America, but the Island is seeing a gaming boom.

Head of e-gaming development, Bill Mummery, says there has been a 30 percent rise in e-gaming license applications.

Mummery said that recent events in Europe and in the US had highlighted the need for operators to be located in a premier jurisdiction with strong regulations.

And he says events in the US will have a positive impact on the Isle of Man and highlight the need for operators to carry out a thorough business risk analysis, including ensuring they are located in a well-regulated world class jurisdiction.

Mr Mummery also says the UK gambling legislation which is being brought in won’t mean the Island loses out as more focus will be brought to our region.
