BBC go wild in the Island

by isleofman.com 12th October 2006
A BBC wildlife film crew has filmed a Manx half hour programme for a themed series on British endangered wildlife.

The presenter of the programme is former Coronation Street star Sunita Alahan.

The crew were taken out to The Sound in a boat by George Platt from Port St Mary and filmed the grey seals in the area. During their couple of days on the Island, they met with and were assisted by representatives from Department of Tourism and Leisure, John Galpin, Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch, Dr Fiona Gell, Wildlife and Conservation Division of DAFF, and Chris Sharpe, project manager of Manx Bird Atlas.

In order to allow the programme-makers to film winter/migratory species, the programmes will not be broadcast until either the end of 2006 or the start of 2007.
