Vagabonds and Douglas both recorded wins in their respective EuroManx Divisions of the UK National Leagues.
In EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One, Vagabonds disposed of Widnes 34-29 at Glencrutchery Road.
Vagas led 34-12 with a quarter of an hour to go thanks to tries from Jason Bowden, Midge van Vuuren, Adam Matheson, Dirk Maree, Rob Pease and Jay Kruger.
Widnes stormed back in the final stages of the game but Vagas were just able to hang on.
In Division Three, Douglas recorded a neat away win at Marple beating their hosts 22-19.
Flanker Kev Spicer bagged two tries and James Bunce one, with Bryn Snellgrove weighing in with two conversions and a penalty.
This difficult away win will make up for a two point deduction hanging over Douglas following an allegation that they played an unregistered player in last week’s win over Liverpool Collegiate.
