Bacchas A win match of the day

by isleofman.com 21st October 2006
Reigning champions Bacchas A showed why they won’t relinquish their title without a fight after ending the 100 per cent record of arch rivals Valkyrs A on Saturday.

Valkyrs have set a blistering pace in the opening weeks of the Mixed Hockey Division One season but goals from Carl Moore and Andy Bridson inflicted a first defeat of the campaign.

Bacchas deserved their 2-1 success, Russell Millward pulling one back for Valkyrs late on.

Elsewhere, Phoenix A and Ramsey A shared three goals apiece in a thriller – an impressive result for Phoenix and one which saw Ramsey drop into third place on goal difference; Falcons saw off a battling Celts 5-3, while Bacchas B thrashed bottom club, pointless Saracens A, 10-1.
