Ramsey and Western Vikings both won their respective ties to go through to the semi-finals of the Dorchester Maritime Manx Cup.
Ramsey beat Southern Nomads 28-7 at King Williams College.
Early tries from Craig Long and Steve Brew, plus two penalties from Sean Wylie, gave the northerners a 16-0 half time lead.
Nomads came back early in the second half and Cam Sayle’s try, converted by Al Corrin, gave them a sniff with the score at 7-16.
Ramsey closed the game out though and added further tries in the final stages through Tynan and Aneurin Pritchard to make the game safe.
In the other Manx Cup tie, Western Vikings ran out 20-15 winners in a thriller against Castletown at Poulsom Park.
Town led 5-0 at half time following Andy Birchall’s third minute try.
Vikings hit back in the second half and led briefly 8-5 after a Mark Venables penalty and a Paul Moffatt try.
Town levelled the score with an Ed Palmer penalty on the hour.
Vikings extended their advantage to 15-8 with just ten minutes to go when skipper James Wren darted over from close range for a try converted by George Gadsby.
Town hit right back though in a crazy last few minutes.
Barry Lawson was the hero for Town after he ran back a poor clearance kick for a try, which Ed Palmer converted to level the match with just two minutes on the clock.
From the restart though, Gadsby powered through the Castletown back line to seal the game for Vikings in a dramatic finish.
