Maria Canavan has been appointed managing director of Active Services (IOM) Limited. Active Services provides "proactive and professional support to the offshore finance industry" that, they say, "extends far beyond KYC procedures". Ms Canavan was born in the Republic of Ireland and educated at University College Dublin. She moved to the Isle of Man in 1998 and is one of the founding members of the Association of Corporate Service Providers, during which time she sat on a number of FSC, Treasury and other consultative bodies and was also on the committee of both the local and regional board of the Compliance Institute.
