Smiths Aerospace appoint a new GM.

Chris Allen has been appointed the new General Manager of Smiths Aerospace in the Island.

He replaces Malcolm Macdonald who has retired after more than 40 years at the Onchan facility. Before joining Smiths, Chris Allen was General Manager of Ronaldsway Aircraft Company. The firm says he brings with him more than 20 years experience in the aerospace and automotive industry.

Smiths Aerospace is part of Smiths Group, the leading transatlantic
aerospace equipment and systems company, with more than 11,000
employees and $2.3 billion sales worldwide. In recent years the Onchan facility has faced uncertainty about its future and redundancies: but Trade & Industry Minister Downie says that in recent years, its enjoyed a resurgence under the leadership of Malcolm MacDonald and he believes Chris is the right person to lead Smiths to further success.
