Landmark " Stabit" is demolished

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2006
A Douglas landmark has gone.

The concrete " Stabit", one of those designed for the battery pier extension, which stood outside the Sea Terminal, has been broken up. The pieces are being taken away.
The area is being reconstructed to allow better vehicular access.

The object got its name from the Manx motto and from the fact it had "three legs"
