Gold for Gerrard

by isleofman.com 7th November 2006
Manx athlete Keith Gerrard was a member of the Gold winning team at the National
Cross Country Relay Championships, which were held at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield on
Saturday

The event attracted 135 clubs and featured many of Great Britain's top endurance
runners who were using the race as preparation for the forthcoming European Trials.

Making his second appearance in the colours of Newham and Essex Beagles, Gerrard ran
the third 5km leg in a time of 15.32 leaving his team in fourth position at the final
change over.

A brilliant run by Mark Warmby on the last leg gave the Newham team
victory from Aldershot Farnham and District by seven seconds.
