Geordies out to maintain lead

by isleofman.com 10th November 2006
Football - Division One leaders St. George's will be hoping to maintain a four point advantage at the top when they entertain Ayre at Glencrutchery Road this afternoon. They will also be out for revenge after the northerners won 3-0 on the opening day of the season.

The top fixture is at Croit Lowey where Rushen play Peel in the "old firm" game.

In Rugby, both Vagabonds and Douglas will look to maintain recent good form. In EuroManx South Lancashire and Cheshire Division One, Vagas are at Burnage, while Douglas host Newton le Willows in Division Three.

The Isle of Man Under-21 Women's Hockey squad is away in Manchester for games against Cheshire, Cumbria and Yorkshire. As a result, this afternoon's scheduled big cup quarter-final clash bewtween Bacchas "A" and Valkyrs "A" has been postponed.
