Malew produced a superb battling display to hold CFS Division Two leaders Corinthians to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
And it was an excellent fightback as they overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit to earn a point.
Kevin Harding and Nigel Moody had given the visitors an interval lead but Malew showed great qualities and earned a share of the spoils with goals from Darryl Yardley and Jack Charmer.
Second placed Old Boys are now level on points with Corinthians, with a game in hand, after a 6-1 win at lowly Ramsey Youth Centre.
Craig Stewart, Callum Stewart, Gary Quirk, Kenny Magee, James Cain and Mark Burman were the Old Boys marksmen, with Andrew Cleator providing the Youth Centre consolation.
Michael stayed in third after a 5-3 win at Foxdale in the western derby, courtesy of goals from Jamie Moffatt (two), Michael Shimmin (two) and Johnny Woodward.
Foxdale had held Michael to 2-2 at the break.
Greg Hoskisson and Alex Cawley goals secured Castletown a hard fought 2-1 win at Onchan, who knocked Town out of the FA Cup last season.
Liam Buckley was the home side’s scorer.
Ten-man Ronaldsway won the battle of the bottom clubs with a 4-2 success at Jurby.
