It was an All Saints day on Saturday as leaders St George’s and third placed St Mary’s both won heavily, while second placed Peel gained the result of the day with a 2-1 victory at arch rivals Rushen.
However, there was a further setback for the reigning champions Laxey as they were held at home by lowly Braddan.
St George’s avenged an opening day 3-0 defeat at Ayre by winning the return fixture 6-1 at Glencrutchery Road.
Ayre, whose goal was scored by Harry Weatherill, held the Geordies to 1-1 at half-time.
But it was a one-way second period as the home side ran out comfortable winners with goals from Michael McHale, James McStay, Martin Torr (two) and Mark McCarrick (two).
A late, late show from second placed Peel sealed victory in the ‘auld’ firm’ clash at Croit Lowey.
Rushen had led through Paul Jones but an 84th minute equaliser from Chris Cain and an even later Chris Hawke goal sparked western celebrations.
St Mary's remain in third after a 5-1 victory over St John's at the Bowl.
Martin Reilly (two), Lee Dixon, Steve Priestnal and Peter Langridge were the Saints’ marksmen with Wes Kitching grabbing the St John’s consolation.
The surprise of the day came at Glen Road as Laxey were held to a 1-1 draw by Braddan, who remain in the relegation zone, but will consider this a potentially vital point.
It was a superb result for the newly promoted club who earned a point thanks to a late goal from Wil Smith.
Nigel Beattie’s goal looked set to have secured maximum points for the Miners.
The match between Ramsey and Douglas Royal was abandoned at half-time, with the scoreline at 0-0, due to a water logged pitch.
