Local airline Manx2.com says it is planning to add more flights in to its Blackpool timetable in the future after achieving its best ever week’s sales on the route.
The firm says the route used to be one of the busiest to/from the Isle of Man, but has declined steadily in recent years. Since it started flying the route in July, Manx2.com says it has gained a 75% share of the market, and early indications are that the route will grow this year for the first time in many years.
Meanwhile Manx2.com has been working with the Department of Tourism and Leisure in the IOM to promote the route, and one of the principal initiatives has been the branding of a Blackpool tram, with artwork specifically designed to promote the Isle of Man ( pictured)
This tram travels up and down the main seafront in Blackpool every day, running the whole length of the Fylde coast from Fleetwood to Lytham St Annes, and is expected to be seen by millions of visitors during the course of a year.
From the beginning of December, Manx2.com will be adding a fourth service every Friday .
Earlier EuroManx announced record figures for October.
