Police investigate football violence

Rushen United Football Club are holding a meeting this evening to discuss violent clashes, which marred the end of their Division One clash against St Mary's on Saturday.

An altercation involving players and a spectator sparked a mass brawl in the ground's car park.

Police have confirmed they are investigating an incident in which a man sustained injuries. No arrests have been made.

The FA's Joint Vice President and Chair of the FA's Referee's Committee, Norman Kneen, says the Disciplinary Committee will assess the findings of police inquiries.

He says FA will do everything it can to prevent such incidents happening:
