Town centre qualities under discussion

The Chartered Institute of Marketing are to stage what there are terming " A unique Event to Discuss Impact of Town Centres on Manx Economy"The evening on Wednesday 29th, a week after the election, will start with a presentation by members of the 2006 Manx Executive Challenge “Yellow Team”, who will explain how the aesthetic and environment qualities of the Island’s town centres currently impact on the Manx economy. They will also discuss the likely economical benefits if comprehensive investment is made in them.The second part of the evening will be presented by marketer and retail expert, Martin Sewell. Over his career, Martin has developed brands, communications strategies and distribution channels in a wide range of industry sectors. He also founded the Retail Management Centre at the Chartered Institute of Marketing. In his session, Martin plans to demonstrate:How Manx retailers can escape a downwards spiral Ways to motivate and inspire customers to give local retailers a chance. How to provide an environment which encourages ‘Freedom to Flourish’ for the benefit of IOM plc The venue is the Colonnade Suite at the Villa Marina, Douglas, Isle of Manwith a start time is 6.00pm. Finish time is 7.30pm (approx)Admission is free but places must be booked in advance.
