The Isle of Man Football Association is promising a crackdown on violent, abusive or insulting behaviour at matches.
A strongly worded statement has been issued following the disturbances at the end of Saturday's Division One fixture between Rushen United and St. Mary's, and reports of an increase in abuse to match officials:-
The release doesn't deal with any specific situation, but the organisation states "it will use all the powers dictated by the Football Association Disciplinary Laws to deal with such matters."
A campaign to encourage everyone in the game to take a responsible attitude to deal with the problems, that from time to time cause serious problems in the sport, is to be launched.
It's aim is to make football on the Island a pleasure for all involved - whether as spectators, players or officials, and also for parents to feel that a football ground is a safe place for their
children.
