Valkyrs A are champions!

by isleofman.com 25th November 2006
The champagne corks are popping out west after the leaders defeated Falcons 3-0 and nearest rivals, reigning champions Bacchas A, were defeated yet again by bogey team Ramsey.

Having missed out on the Mixed Division One title on goal difference last season, Valkyrs made no mistake this time, sealing the championship with a 3-0 victory, courtesy of strikes from Greg Miller, Gareth Morris and Gerry Quinn.

And it was also an excellent day for Ramsey A who continued their hoodoo over Bacchas A with a 2-1 win, sealed with goals from Ollie Webster and Andy Burrows.

Karl Moore scored for Bacchas, who needed to win themselves to stay in contention and hope Valkyrs A would drop points.

Elsewhere in Division One, Steve Chappell was the four goal hero as Bacchas B defeated Saracens 8-2, a result which confirmed Saracens relegation.
