RBS employees go the extra mile

by isleofman.com 7th December 2006
An internal competition between 2,000 Royal Bank of Scotland International, NatWest and Isle of Man Bank employees across the Isle of Man, Channel Islands, has been designed to raise awareness of the crucial role customer service plays.

Known as the Extra Mile competition, employees were asked to nominate colleagues who they felt had gone that ‘extra mile’ to assist a customer. The result was that 20,000 votes were placed during a two week period across all the jurisdictions.

Isle of Man employees took the top three prizes with Jo Swift, Customer Services Officer for Isle of Man Bank winning the top prize, a 27” plasma television. Jo’s colleagues nominated her for a number of reasons including helping a customer at a cash machine in the pouring rain and hand delivering information to a customer during her lunch break.

Hugo Mackenzie, an International Adviser from RBS International and Paul Quirk, manager of Isle of Man Bank’s Port Erin branch were also recognised for their efforts.
