Douglas promotion push continues

by isleofman.com 16th December 2006
Douglas’ great run of form continued with a 30-0 away win at Newton le Willows in EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three.

Skipper Jon Hill crossed for Douglas early on to set them on their way and his try was followed by further scores from James Stamp, Lee Illott and Andy Henning-Fisk.

Illott also added a drop goal, a penalty and two conversions to round off a good day at the office.

This now puts Douglas on the top of the table, sharing the top spot with Prenton and Southport, the latter losing 30-0 away at Liverpool Collegiate.

Southport will make the trip to Port-e-Chee early in the New Year, however Douglas do have tricky away fixtures at both Prenton and Liverpool Collegiate so their promotion chances are by no means guaranteed.
