Cav out of luck in Moscow

by isleofman.com 18th December 2006
Mark Cavendish was part of the Great Britain track team, which took home a haul of medals from the Moscow World Cup at the weekend.

Cavendish, who won gold in the Commonwealth Games, came eighth in the Scratch race after missing the main move, which saw four riders lap the rest of the field.

On day two, Cavendish was part of a young Team Pursuit outfit who finished fifth overall, and on the final day he and Rob Hayles, former World Champions, had a near miss in the Madison, putting on a strong showing and finishing second on points, but fourth overall after the Dutch and Moscow teams stole a lap.
