Well known Douglas pharmacist John Hemensley has died.
He was 80 years old and leaves wife Margaret and son Ian.
John was heavily involved in Badminton, and was President of the Isle of Man Association.
He was most closely associated with the Fencibles Club, but previously played for Finch Hill. John was known as the voice of the sport through his weekly Saturday reports on Manx Radio.
Badminton Association Competition Secretary Frank Anderson says John was a very kind man, and often attended his shop in Windsor Road at the weekend, following a Police call-out:-
