Cavendish dedicates Gold to James Berry

by isleofman.com 29th December 2006
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Mark Cavendish has re-dedicated his win in Melbourne to a promising young Manx cyclist.

It's a year to the day since James Berry was involved in an accident on the main Douglas to Peel road. He died the next day in Noble's Hospital.

Speaking on Manx Radio's Sports Review of the Year, Mark says he made a promise to the family ahead of his victory in Australia:-

Isle of Man Cycling is holding a social ride-out this Sunday in memory of James Berry.

Anyone wishing to take part should meet in the car park next to the NSC's all-weather hockey pitches at 9.15am.
