The annual all-Island Careers Convention will be spread over two days at the Villa Marina, Douglas, next month. The dates, February 7 and Thursday, February 8.
Nearly 50 public and private sector employers will occupy stands, offering advice on entering professions such as the armed forces, health, shipping, finance, the media, meteorology, manufacturing, the emergency services and many more.
The Manx Government will showcase opportunities in fields such as teaching, forestry, civil engineering, science, nursing and dentistry. Careers advisers from the Department of Education’s Careers Service will attend to give specific information and to advise on which exhibitors to approach.
Also present will be the Department’s Youth Service and Junior Achievement.
Nearly 1,000 Year 11 students from all five secondary schools will be attending the convention and quizzing prospective employers about the opportunities they have available.
