EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three leaders Douglas started 2007 off with a comfortable 39-16 home win over Mossley Hill.
Douglas trailed 10-11 at half time with Gwyn Davies’ try, plus a conversion and drop goal from Lee Illott, keeping them in touch as the visitors’ heavier pack took its toll.
In the second half, however, Douglas used their superior fitness well and moved the ball wide to finish up with a slightly flattering but nonetheless satisfying winning margin.
