Filiming starts again on January Island

by isleofman.com 8th January 2007
The enigmatic signs have started appearing again on street furniture round the Island, to the relief perhaps of the Film Commission.
After something of a hiatus, Isle of Man Film’s next Production entitled "Is This Love?" has started shooting here.

Who will I get to see shopping in M and S you are asking?
Well, the film stars Max Beasley (Hotel Babylon) ( pictured left), Kate Ashfield (Shaun of the Dead)( pictured right) and Emma Pierson (Who Gets the Dog?).

The four-part television drama is being described as ‘Cold feet with tough edges’ as it tells the story of a love triangle between a couple and their best friend. Directed by Dearbhla Walsh (Shameless) and produced by Matt Jones (Shameless), filming is set to continue through January till the 2nd of February.

Meanwhile, Miss Potter ( picture centre) has made it through the first round of voting by BAFTA members in the Orange British Academy Film Awards, appearing in seven categories; Original Screenplay, Make-up & Hair, Costume Design, Cinematography, Film Music, Actress in a Leading role (Renee Zellweger) and Actress in a Supporting role (Emily Watson).

The second round of voting is open now and will close on the 10th January whereupon the shortlist of five films will be decided. The BAFTAs take place on February 11th at London’s Royal Opera House.
