Vagabonds B, the only side with a realistic chance of overhauling Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield leaders Ramsey, crashed to a 58-0 defeat at Southern Nomads on Saturday.
Vagas had to start with 14 men and were soon down to 13 when they lost Danny Williams to injury in the opening minutes.
Nomads capitalised quickly and tries from Andy Lean, Rob Keelan and Wig Bregazzi put them 15-0 up at half time.
In the second half, with the strong wind behind them, Nomads soon forged ahead further.
Three tries from Philemon Campbell, scores from Damian Brand, Al Corrin, Phil Manktelow and a second from Rob Keelan, plus two conversions each from Dave Edge and Pete Richards, all added up to an unfeasibly large score line which did no justice to some of the effort put in by the short staffed visitors.
At Mooragh Park, Ramsey survived an early scare to run out 34-6 winners of a much improved Castletown side.
Skipper Matt Livesey put the Shield leaders ahead with an early try but two penalties from Dan O’Connor gave Castletown an improbable 6-5 lead at the break.
Second half tries from Dave Harding, Tynan Pritchard, Garry Vernon, Stu McConnell and Livesey’s second made it safe for the home side who now appear to be a shoe in to lift the Shield.
In the final match of the day, Western Vikings beat Northern Spaniards 41-13 at Poulsom Park.
Richard Little picked up two tries for the Vikings with other scores coming from James Wren, Matty Teare, Tony Quaye and Paul Middleton, while George Gadsby knocked over four conversions and a penalty.
Spaniards co-skipper Pete Walkom picked up a try for his side and Luke Rowe added a second with a Tommy Callister penalty making up the total.
