Valkyrs A win match of the day

Champions Valkyrs A won the match of the day on Saturday in DeanWood men’s Division One with a tight 2-1 victory over the ever improving Ramsey A.

Goals from Gareth Morris and Gerry Quinn secured victory for the champions with Keith Corkill on target for Ramsey.

Nearest rivals Bacchas A were given a scare by Vikings A before emerging 3-2 winners, courtesy of a Karl Moore double and a Richard Le Page strike.

Paul Kelly and Dave Millward grabbed the goals for battling Vikings.

Elsewhere in Division One, Valkyrs B were 3-1 winners against Castletown A, while Bacchas B defeated newly promoted Vikings B 5-0.

In Wallbrook Trustees women’s Division One, Castletown A gave Bacchas A a real fight before the champions ran out winners 6-5 in a goal glut.
