Unemployment down, inflation up to end the year

Inflation on the Island increased in December by point 4%.

This took the rate at the end of the year to 3.1%.

On average , over the full year, excluding housing, the rate was 2%.
Over the year, to mid December the only category to record a fall was motoring, which went down by 1.7%.

At the same time, unemployment ended the year at 1.4%, or 577 of the economically active population. And that meant a fall in unemployment for the first time since millenium year.
